The article is about the construction of seismically safe suspension-type buildings and constructions introduced by the author. It says that the earthquake forces in the load-bearing structures of such a system are several times weaker than those in traditional buildings and constructions, the columns of which are embedded in foundations. Such a constructive system is shown not to require the installation of expensive devices such as dampers, shock absorbers, etc. that reduce seismic forces. The data of dynamic calculations of the simplified scheme are given in the article and indicate the essential advantage of the suggested construction in comparison with others. The article says that to calculate preliminary, the dynamic oscillation mass schemes which are suspended on an elastic frame are used. As a result of the set-up and solution of Lagrange’s equations ofthe second kind, equations of motion of a simplified scheme are obtained. After solving theequations,the forces existing on the supporting construction of the suggested system are obtained. Such preliminary calculations should be carried out in order to determine the initial data on the structure of the bearing frame, the length of the cables on which the building or construction is suspended, and the selection of the stiffness characteristics of bearing elements. It is shown that after preliminary calculations and taking the preliminary dimensions of the cross-sections of the elements on the basis of the solution of the dynamic problem the final calculation can be carried out using well-known programmes “Ansys”, “Nastran”, etc.
