SOME FEATURES OF PILE FOUNDATIONS DESIGNINGIN THE CASE OF LARGE BENDING MOMENT

Abstract

While pile foundation designing (grillages and fields) maximum using of load, equal strength material and soil providing, optimal size definition of piles and grillages, unification and volumes of soils have to be considered.

The bearing walls construction have one raw piles allocation as usual. Frame structure piles foundations must minimized for dimensions as well as for number of piles. There are some difficulties in the case of high moment of force because some of these terms can’t be implemented.

The existing methods (directory of designing) recommend use nomograms depending upon bending moment and numbers of piles while acting only vertical loads. These methods are inconvenient enough because of missing any alternative case and economic account.

The convenient method of pile foundation designing (grillages and fields) depending upon load values on foundation proposed by authors in this article.

The results of numerical investigations, which determined optimal grillages dimensions and numbers of piles in “bush” of piles, shown that this method gives the optimal options of pile foundation under single column with large bending moment and minimum material spending and also providing its bearing capacity.
