DEFORMATION OF MODIFIED SILOR LAMINATED TIMBER OF WORK OF COMPRESSION ALONG THE GRAIN

Abstract

The developed method of experimental research of the work of pine dry glued and modified glued wood (impregnated with polymeric composition "SILOR") under the action of longitudinal compression is given. The construction of experimental samples of prisms from glued wood and placing of devices on them is shown. Experimental studies were carried out and the obtained results of research are given. As a result of the impregnation of birch-wooded wood, the polymer is formed in the pores of wood (tracheids, capillaries and beam cells). The obtained polymer can help to prevent possible damage of treated wood from leached preservatives and does not change the color of the wood. It has been established that the duration of impregnation of glued wood with a polymer composition substantially affects the deformability of modified wood. As the duration of composite impregnation increases, the relative deformability of the modified wood is constantly decreasing and for 720 minutes impregnation time it has decreased: along fibers by 22%; wide perpendicular to glued seam by 27,1%; width parallel to glued seam by 45%. The results of the research will enable designing of modified laminated wood using more fully taking into account the possibilities of the material and the features of the elements work.
