Abstract. As the construction industry identifies the main fields of all scientific and technological fields` development, the issues of decreasing the materials, human and energy resources, used in it, has become rather topical recent times. Thus, highly appropriate has become the concept of redeveloping and reconstruction of existing buildings, rather than construction the new ones. Reinforced concrete structures are widely used in construction practice nowadays; therefore the practical and theoretical issues concerning their work in the damaged state have become highly discussed in recent studies. Great amount of theoretical and experimental data has been obtained and has to be analyzed and reviewed in order to be effectively used. The thorough theoretical review in this field would become the valuable investigation, optimizing further studies and practical work in reconstruction of existing reinforced concrete elements.
In the article are considered the features of damaged reinforced concrete elements work on the basis of thorough literature review and analysis of this subject. The main purpose of the paper is systematization of research and scientific works` available data, taking into consideration the necessity of this topical problem further development. The main fields of experimental and theoretical work and previous research are described. Moreover, the perspective fields for their results optimal usage and effectiveness of new obtained knowledge increasing are identified.
