Abstract

The reconstruction of two bridges of the old construction, the size of which was expanded by precast reinforced pavement slab, is described. The test results of span structures before and after the reconstruction of bridges are given. The test results for the reconstruction testified to the availability of the span structure rigidity margin and the load capacity reserve and confirmed the possibility of using the existing structures during the reconstruction. Substantial reduction of deflections of load-bearing structures during post-reconstruction tests indicates the joint work of the pavement slab with the structures of span structures and a considerable margin of vertical rigidity of the compound cross-sections.It is shown that precast reinforced ribbed pavement slabs with consoles can be used to extend different types of bridge span structures. The reconstructed bridges in terms of performance correspond to the promising technical category of the highway, have a standardized load capacity, capacity and provide safety and comfort of traffic.
