TO THE PROBLEM OF THE RESIDUAL RESOURCEASSESSMENT OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES IN OPERATION

Abstract

The article critically analyzes existing models and methods for the probabilistic durability evaluation of reinforced concrete (RC) structures in operation. Before that, the authors reviewed and analyzed several modern studies in this area by both Ukrainian and foreign scientists and formulated the problems of the calculation and normative base (as established, almost all normative documents consider durability only in terms of the experience of design and operation of RC structures – without taking into account their actual work, including the construction of a stochastic model, in a given environment).According to the authors, the formation of an initial data package for each specific task is necessary due to the complexity of the durability evaluation problem. That requires taking into account parameters of the bearing capacity reserve (such as strength and deformability of materials, geometric dimensions of sections, etc.) and operating conditions (for example, various types of loads, impacts temperature, humidity or aggressive environment, etc.) of a structure, which, in turn, are stochastic.

Based on the studies analyzed, the authors also highlight the main advantages and disadvantages of existing models and methods and also formulate the recommendations for further research in this area: it is necessary to create a fundamental basis of a single practical management apparatus for the reliability and durability (residual resource) of RC structures in operation; exceptfortheuseoftheInternetofThings (IoT), itisalsonecessarytoexpandtheuseofnumericalsimulations, includingMonteCarlomodeling (whichallowsworkingwithdifferentlawsofdistributionofrandomvariablesand, accordingly, toachieveminimizationofvaluesoffailuresprobabilitiesof theseorthosesystems).
