This paper presents the results of a study of the coating strength of the production building of the electric motor plant in Uzhhorod. In particular, the study of the key joints of the plates covering the main body. Based on the survey, it was found that in 60 mounted plates there are no keys for seismic areas, which was the reason for the surveys and formulate the research tasks that are given in this paper. Based on the analysis of the design structure and the implementation of the research tasks, the design of fragments of prototypes, joints of coating plates was chosen. It also describes the production of prototypes, installation of fragments of joints of coating plates, concreting joints between samples of fragments. In particular, three types of joint fragments were performed and tested. The design and strength of prototype concretes and monolith joints are presented in Table. 1. The results of comparing the load-bearing capacity of longitudinal keyway and studless joints of prototypes and those determined according to regulatory data, their comparison are shown in Table. 2. Tests of prototypes are also described, in particular, the crack formation load and the destructive load are established. The analysis of the results of testing fragments and calculations of the load-bearing capacity of keyway joints of coating plates and calculation of the seismic load in the coating and its comparison with the experimental load-bearing capacity of longitudinal joints between coating plates under the condition of crack resistance are performed. Based on the analysis of surveys and experimental and calculated data, relevant conclusions and proposals for further operation of the building of the main building of the electric motor plant are formulated.
