The article focuses on the main problems of solid household waste management. The criticality of the situation of household waste management in cities with millions is substantiated and the reasons for its occurrence are established. It has been proven that enterprises that solve the issue of waste processing should become an integral part of every large city or territorial community. It was emphasized that waste recycling in foreign practice is one of the most profitable branches of the economy. Emphasis is placed on the need for its further implementation in domestic practice. The economic aspect of waste recycling is considered. The expediency of building self-energy-supplying plants for the processing of solid household waste in the suburbs of cities of millionaires is substantiated. Advanced technologies for household waste recycling are considered and their advantages are emphasized. It is emphasized that the choice of the optimal method of solid household waste processing should be determined by the interest of the state, territorial community and entrepreneurs. The vectors of improvement in the field of disposal and secondary processing of solid household waste have been determined.
