The use of glued wooden structures (GWS) in our time in Ukraine is quite limited; this is primarily due to insufficient regulatory framework in construction for the design and guidelines for further operation of wooden structures. However, GWSs have a number of advantages over similar structures made of reinforced concrete and metal. The main advantage of such structures is their low weight, glued wooden structures are not prone to corrosion, and their use in buildings of medium and large spans can reduce the construction budget by up to 30%. The last 15-20 years in modern construction around the world, preference is given to the GWS because thanks to modern methods of processing the GWS, their advantages are obvious.
The results of calculation, design and application of wooden structures of the semi-frame type in a public building with medium spans on the example of a specific construction object are presented. The constructive scheme of half-frames from glued wooden constructions is offered, and provides the necessary reliability in the course of operation of the building capabilities; fire resistance and preservation of structural strength of the GWS are greater than other materials due to their slow charring.
