Inthispaper, theroleofcantileverelementsinreinforcedconcretebeamspanstructuresofbridgesisshownontypicalexamplesofrealbridges, andalsovariousvariantsoftheirmultipurposeapplicationas a partofcrosssectionsbothinconstructionofnew, andduringreconstructionofexistingbridgesareconsidered.
Therolesofconsolesinspanstructuresis mainly determined by their length, so increasing the length to 3-4 m makes it possibletoplaceonthemnotonlythesidewalk, butalsothebikepathandedgelaneofthebridgedeck. Rationaluseofcantilever overhangs of considerable length makes it possible to optimize cross-sections for both new and reconstructedbridgesandtoobtainsignificantsavingsofmaterialsandfundswithoutanylossofnormaloperationindicatorsandperformance.
