The technology of manufacturing mesh wooden shells with optimal parameters of the geodesic network and nodal connections of elements using a universal connector has been developed. The invention contributed to the appearance of qualitatively new technical properties: a significant simplification of the design, a reduction in the number of its components at the same time as an increase in manufacturability and a decrease in the metal capacity of the connector; ensuring the possibility to connect the details of structures at the ends at an arbitrary angle; the ability to create structures with any geometric parameters: rectangular, in the form of honeycombs, complex symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes, and others. This technology is based on the use of a universal steel connector and wooden slats, which, due to their shape, can form almost any structure based on hexagonal polygons. The subject of research is a large-scale model of a wooden dome with a diameter of 4 m. The installation is carried out in the following way. One or more connectors are used to connect two or more parts. First, the parts to be connected must be prepared: the ends of the parts to be connected are milled at a certain angle. Then, samples are milled in the ends for the location of the fastening fastening element in them. Holes are drilled in the ends of the parts to be connected to accommodate rods with threaded ends.
