Abstract

At design of buildings of different function more and more attention pay to energy saving. As practice shows application of external sunshields which also marquises treat, can reduce air temperature indoors by ten to twelve degrees Celsius that allows to reduce significantly during overheating costs on conditioning. At the same time it is possible to keep or to insignificantly reduce passive solar heating in the winter.

Marquises represent external canopies from special fabric over windows, doors, patio, terraces, balconies, pools, cafe and restaurants, playgrounds, etc. which develop in clear weather for protection against direct sunshine (overheating, ultra-violet radiation, brightness, excessive brightness) and turn in cloudy. Management of marquises can be both manual, and automatic. In the latter case the sensors which are keeping track of necessary characteristics of the environment are used.

Important feature of marchionesses which causes the field of their application and distinguishes from other devices for protection against the sun is that they do not interfere with access of air and diffused light to the room, do not close view from the window and allow to darken the room even at open windows.

Marquises treat adjustable sunshields though can be also just stationary canopies from special fabric and also portable canopies which can be moved there where shadowing is necessary, following the movement of the sun.

Some types of marchionesses except function of protection against the sun can perform also other important functions: protection against wind and dust, protection against foreign views and insects, and (in insignificant degree) - from noise.

Classification of marchionesses by constructive sign is given in article. For each constructive type the drawings displaying them design and functional features are shown. Material of article arranges terminology concerning marchionesses, submits information in compact and evident form, makes it available for a wide range of designers and specialists in the field of protection against the sun.
